Seeking Justice Through Integrity

People often tell us during consultations that they're not really sure if they need a lawyer. They believe that their matter isn't really that complicated, and everything seems to be straight forward. Perhaps it's just a 'minor' criminal charge, and once they explain to the state prosecutor or judge what 'obviously' happened, the charges will surely be dismissed. Perhaps they only need a few questions answered, and then they'll be able to handle their civil matter without the aid of a trained attorney. What they fail to see is that their analyses are often very subjective. They are viewing 'facts' and assumptions only from their own point of view. They don't consider the points of view of witnesses, the prosecutor, a judge, or the stakeholders in a myriad of legal processes that are controlled by statutes in books that, if lined up, side by side, would stretch across a football field.
