The immigration attorneys at Schifanelli Law have more than 30 years of experience representing clients in their immigration matters. We now focus on petitions for lawful permanent residence, writs of mandamus in the federal courts, and other areas of administrative immigration issues facing foreign nationals before and after their lawful arrival to the United States.  Our attorneys are fluent in Spanish and have working knowledges of several other world languages. 

The FINRA attorneys at Schifanelli Law have successfully recovered for our clients millions of dollars from the major investment advisory companies, including Wells Fargo Advisors, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, J.P. Morgan Chase and others. We work on behalf of investors/clients who were victims of broker negligence, as well as registered financial advisors that were victims of FINRA form U-5 Defamation.  

Our SLAPP attorneys understand the Maryland citizenry's right to speak freely about matters of public concern, particularly when it comes to development projects planned in their counties or near their homes. When concerned citizens do speak their minds about such matters, they can be the victims of frivolous lawsuits by those who don't want the person's viewpoint getting wide attention. We have successfully defended people targeted by developers who make claims of "defamation" with the true intent to simply silence their opposition.   

Schifanelli Law, LLP proudly serves as attorneys for the Somerset County Public Schools Board of Education. We have the expertise and experience to guide local boards of education through their day-to-day administration, including education law, employment law, labor negotiations, freedom of speech, and other specialized areas of law that affect local boards. We advise board members through periods of transition that can be difficult and daunting.  

We support our local Sheriffs. As the highest elected law enforcement officials in the nation, Sheriffs and their departments are often the first line of safety and justice for Marylanders. However, when making quick decisions in the line of duty, deputies sheriffs can be the subject of citizen complaints and potential discipline. Complaints are an essential right of the citizenry, but must be reviewed by knowledgeable and skilled attorneys who understand the often subtle differences between, for example, a detention and a formal arrest. The attorneys at Schifanelli Law are proud to have assisted departments rebut the findings of the Police Accountability Boards.  

We assist Maryland residents who have been denied their Handgun Qualification Licenses (HQL) or denied other rights guaranteed and protected by the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution, including freedom of speech and religion.
